To this day, many people claim that small businesses are the backbone of the United States economy. From local shops and restaurants to the service providers that many citizens rely on, small businesses certainly play a large role in keeping the American economic wheel turning.

As technology has progressed, however, some businesses have struggled to adapt to the changing digital world of business. In 2013, the ability to effectively utilize technology can be the difference between success and failure for a small business.
Cloud computing is one such technological innovation that can have tremendous benefits for businesses that effectively implement it. Lacking the resources enjoyed by many larger companies, small businesses have to remain as efficient as possible to succeed. Cloud computing, of course, sets the standard for online efficiency.
Here are a few of the specific ways a small business can benefit from cloud computing;
File Sharing – It’s important that each member of a small business be up to speed with the latest information. By sharing important files and documents via the cloud, you don’t have to worry about a member of the team being left behind.
Remote Access – What if your company isn’t geographically centered in a specific area, and with a specific Internet provider? So, if one person is getting online with CLEAR wireless internet in Somerville, and another is logging on from Fayetteville, there is no issue.
Appointment Management – This goes back to the idea that small businesses have much less room for error than larger corporations. With fewer resources to manage calendars and appointments, it’s imperative that a small business has everyone organized and on-time. Using the cloud as an email client, calendar manager, etc., small businesses can be confident they won’t let anything slip through the cracks.
Once again, these are just a few of the many ways that small businesses can benefit from implementing cloud computing services. If you own, or are thinking of starting, a small business, be sure that setting up a cloud computing system is high on your to-do list.

The profits of the cloud computing companies are quite high and the established ones are enjoying a premium presence baging up loads of money. That is not all, there have been various rounds of funding of the cloud computing providers and that shows how promising this technology is.

The battle is on and new advancements in this field are coming up so that people prefer a higher tech company. It’s the Amazon which leads the race and is the biggest cloud computing company in the market with huge number of clients and great service. Just behind it are Intel, IBM and Apple which are constantly working hardly specifically on this field to lead the race.

Much before anyone could really judge the potential of Cloud Computing, Steve jobs already predicted the potential and success of Cloud Computing back in 1997. Apple Visionary talks about Cloud Computing in the video in a press talk in 1997.

Steve Jobs has been my inspirer and it’s really shocking and inspiring to see him talk about something so powerful 15 years back. He really knew What works and what doesn’t, that is the sole reason Apple is leading company today.

Checkout : What is Cloud Computing?

Back in 1997,He said that :

“None of his data is on the local disk but on the Server which he logs on from anywhere and starts working .”

Steve Jobs on Cloud Computing

Let’s checkout the video of Steve Jobs talking about Cloud Computing back in 1997 :

He even talks about what’s the purpose of hard disk on the computer if there are servers which one can work and store data on.

Does this mean in future we can see Apple creating Devices with no hard disk and all the data on the server following Steve Jobs’ approach of Cloud Computing?

Thanks to this approach of Steve Jobs, we have Apple using Cloud Computing as a biggest weapon to compete against it’s competitors like Microsoft , Google , Samsung and much more. iCloud is result of thinking of Steve Jobs and that’s what differentiates Apple from other companies.

Cloud Computing isn’t only for the huge companies to relax their lives but also a great boon for other sectors which include Finance, Health, etc. The latest to get a boom and thumbs up from Cloud Computing is the Health Sector. The healthcare is the latest to be beneficial from the cloud.

Imagine you’re a doctor and there’s an emergency . You receive a notification of the situation and the patient’s report on your mobile through the applications and you issue the instructions immediately . That is not a joke but soon will be a reality thanks to Cloud Computing Companies for coming up with this innovation. So, that means Cloud Computing would really be not only be a money saver just for the companies but it would be a life saver too.

The first to take the help of Cloud Computing in Medicines is Mount Sinai which is the first site that went live in August 2011 having 600 patients enrolled and experiencing the unique and quick experience of Cloud Computing for the treatment. Universities like Mayo Clinic, University of California — San Francisco, University of Chicago Medical Center, and versity of Maryland Medical Center (Baltimore) are eager supporters of the Cloud Computing in the medicine and health sector.

Checkout : What is Cloud Computing?

“This is the next revolution in digital imaging,” said David Mendelson, MD, FACR, Chief of Clinical Informatics at The Mount Sinai Medical Center and Chief Clinical Investigator for RSNA Image Share. The patients are happy in the way they have direct access to physicians with their reports on the cloud which can be forwarded to the latter and no further examination for every physician is to be done.

he RSNA Image Share project is funded by the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering at NIH.In the test phase, Patients are allowed to upload the images of their reports and create a personal health report on the cloud. The doctor examines the previous reports and current scenario and suggests the treatment and medicines on the cloud itself. The other advantage is a personal health record of patient is created and the doctor knows the previous data and previous treatment given to the patient.

Cloud Computing in healthcare is doing wonders but the real problem is a lot of persons are still unware of this term and how much potential it has. Hopefully future would be great for Cloud Computing as well as humans with cloud as a great weapon making it easy to knock down tasks in less time with a backup.

Cloud Computing is the NEXT BIG THING. But majority of the people even the computer professionals and company managers don’t know what is cloud computing?

Cloud Computing is the onserver online computing of applications, softwares and utilities rather than installing all products on a computer. It’s a shared pool of data over a network to help users work in a stable and more reliable environment which can be accessed from mobiles, laptops and even tablets.

Cloud Computing is on the lips of everyone but we are missing on the live example of cloud computing we are using daily on our systems. Facebook, Gmail, Yahoo Mail, Picassa, all are examples of cloud computing we are using from several years and if you yourself analyse you would know the obvious reason you love these websites and how cloud computing makes it easy for you .

Cloud Computing has been a concept easy to understand but difficult to define so to remove all the doubts and no words factor from this word the US National Institute of Standards and Technology has put forward a definition which calls to be the official and most closest explaining of the cloud computing which says :

Cloud computing is a model for enabling, convenient, on-demand network access to a shared pool of configurable computing resources ( eg. networks, servers, storage, applications, and services) that can be rapidly provisioned and released with minimal management effort or service provider interaction. This cloud model promotes availability and is composed of five essential characteristics, three service models, and four deployment models

The working principle of cloud computing is computing used as a service rather than a product. That calls for everyone using his/her computer but connecting to a central computer filling up all the needs saving huge mantainance costs, time delay, software upgrades and much more which needs to be done manually on each system one works on . But with cloud computing, it’s just a central system which needs mantainance and software upgrades saving huge costs and increasing the efficiency of work load of people indirectly leading to progress of companies.

The capability of cloud computing is immense and that can be proved from the fact that according to the figures from the Forrester the total market for cloud computing that the total market for cloud computing will be $241 billion by 2020. And such a huge amount makes it the NEXT BIG THING.

Checkout : Cloud Computing In Healthcare

Understanding Cloud Computing Crystal Clear

To make you more clear of the concept of cloud computing, it’s just like building a cloud with rain drops, here rain drops are your files which vary from playists, pictures, documents, emails, messages, applications, softwares and even contacts. Cloud Computing enables the system to connect with all your things and let them be connected to you and easy to access when you’re anywhere in the world and not on your computer. It literally means you can access your files even from Pluto if you have a network access there. All one needs to do is create a personal cloud of the things one wants to access whenever and wherever he wants and that’s it let the cloud sync and you can access and use those files wherever you wish too. The shared data remains with the user itself as he only has access to it and it is listed on a server cutting the heavy load of the personal computers thus enabling them to maintain a fast speed throughout the user experience.

Various companies have already realized it’s importance and have shifted to cloud computing for a better output cutting their costs and progressing towards a great future with huge progress in a less time.

So, hopefully it is the end of the search for “ What is Cloud Computing ? “ .Cloud Computing has really changed the face of the storage and it’s time to get on the cloud, take it benefits and enjoy a much faster experience with great goals in a much lesser time. Are you a cloud computing fan? Do you think it’s the NEXT BIG THING?
