What is Cloud Computing?

Cloud Computing is the NEXT BIG THING. But majority of the people even the computer professionals and company managers don’t know what is cloud computing?

Cloud Computing is the onserver online computing of applications, softwares and utilities rather than installing all products on a computer. It’s a shared pool of data over a network to help users work in a stable and more reliable environment which can be accessed from mobiles, laptops and even tablets.

Cloud Computing is on the lips of everyone but we are missing on the live example of cloud computing we are using daily on our systems. Facebook, Gmail, Yahoo Mail, Picassa, all are examples of cloud computing we are using from several years and if you yourself analyse you would know the obvious reason you love these websites and how cloud computing makes it easy for you .

Cloud Computing has been a concept easy to understand but difficult to define so to remove all the doubts and no words factor from this word the US National Institute of Standards and Technology has put forward a definition which calls to be the official and most closest explaining of the cloud computing which says :

Cloud computing is a model for enabling, convenient, on-demand network access to a shared pool of configurable computing resources ( eg. networks, servers, storage, applications, and services) that can be rapidly provisioned and released with minimal management effort or service provider interaction. This cloud model promotes availability and is composed of five essential characteristics, three service models, and four deployment models

The working principle of cloud computing is computing used as a service rather than a product. That calls for everyone using his/her computer but connecting to a central computer filling up all the needs saving huge mantainance costs, time delay, software upgrades and much more which needs to be done manually on each system one works on . But with cloud computing, it’s just a central system which needs mantainance and software upgrades saving huge costs and increasing the efficiency of work load of people indirectly leading to progress of companies.

The capability of cloud computing is immense and that can be proved from the fact that according to the figures from the Forrester the total market for cloud computing that the total market for cloud computing will be $241 billion by 2020. And such a huge amount makes it the NEXT BIG THING.

Understanding Cloud Computing Crystal Clear

To make you more clear of the concept of cloud computing, it’s just like building a cloud with rain drops, here rain drops are your files which vary from playists, pictures, documents, emails, messages, applications, softwares and even contacts. Cloud Computing enables the system to connect with all your things and let them be connected to you and easy to access when you’re anywhere in the world and not on your computer. It literally means you can access your files even from Pluto if you have a network access there. All one needs to do is create a personal cloud of the things one wants to access whenever and wherever he wants and that’s it let the cloud sync and you can access and use those files wherever you wish too. The shared data remains with the user itself as he only has access to it and it is listed on a server cutting the heavy load of the personal computers thus enabling them to maintain a fast speed throughout the user experience.

Various companies have already realized it’s importance and have shifted to cloud computing for a better output cutting their costs and progressing towards a great future with huge progress in a less time.

So, hopefully it is the end of the search for “ What is Cloud Computing ? .Cloud Computing has really changed the face of the storage and it’s time to get on the cloud, take it benefits and enjoy a much faster experience with great goals in a much lesser time. Are you a cloud computing fan? Do you think it’s the NEXT BIG THING?
